Magnificent set of six framed William Curtis Botanical Plates. All are in excellent condition and each come with a page of accompanying text.  This set is framed with a 23 karat gold water-gild molding.   Matted in a double mat, the top a French mat with 23 karat gold foil and a primary blue-green colored wash on off-white next to an adjacent inner wash, A second inner mat is added with its own wash for a very special look. All material is acid-free.  UV filtering glass is used on this set.  The outside framed measurement is about 15-3/4 x 20-1/4 inches.  This is a very rare set which comes from the first and second volumes of The Botanical Magazine.
